The Client
Stepz is an Australian fitness franchise with 16 locations across Queensland and New South Whales. They have a great for reputation providing high quality equipment and friendly customer service in an affordable and non-intimidating environment. They combine 24/7 gym access with group fitness under one roof to give members the best of both worlds.
The Challenge
When we first spoke to Stepz they were working with an advertising agency to run their Facebook and Google ads. Results had started to plateau and there was a feeling of complacency, rather than being proactive and exploring new ways to generate better results.
The cost per lead was higher than they’d like, the ad creative and landing pages needed improvement and as a whole, their campaigns needed a bit of a refresh. Our first goal was to optimise their sales funnel, improve their conversion rate, upgrade all the assets and set a new campaign from scratch so we could ‘start over’. Here’s what we did…

Upgrade The MEssaging
Before we created any new ads or campaigns, we needed to improve the messaging. It was okay but a little too generic, and the overall messaging didn’t capture everything that’s great about the gym.

New Landing Pages
Once we’d defined what makes Stepz great, we improved the landing pages they use to get leads. We wrote new copy, upgraded the design, optimised it for mobile and install heat maps for better tracking.

New Ad Creative
Now that we had great landing pages we created some new ads for both Facebook and Google. We designed attention-grabbing visual and wrote ad copy that was compelling and made people take action.

New Campaigns
With all the assets created, we setup brand new campaigns on Facebook and Google, with improved settings and structure. We split them up into 32 campaigns (2 platforms for each location).

Launch & Monitor
Since everything had been heavily optimised, new leads started coming in quickly. Over time we noticed trends and continued to optimise the campaign and establish a baseline cost per lead.

Improve & Repeat
Once the campaign had finished we reviewed the results. It was the most successful campaign they had ever run! We took these learnings and applied them to our future campaigns, which we still run today.

There’s nothing we enjoy more than seeing a client’s campaign succeed. After the 2-month campaign had completed and the numbers were in, it was the most successful campaign they had run in their entire history.

After such an impressive result, we became the offical marketing partner for Stepz Fitness and help them with all things digital. We currently run all the ad campaigns and provide marketing support for both Stepz Gym and Stepz Franchise.
